Little Gulls, RW, 18th April


A couple of hours spent watching the 20 Little Gulls at close quarters (close being 3-4m). A rocking boat, active gulls and auto focus is not the best of combination's.

Cormorant yawning, RW


This yawning Cormorant shows why they can swallow huge fish. Their mouths are like dustbins.

Ospreys often like to decorate their nests with discarded baling twine and this individual nearly paid a heavy price for doing so. Fortunately after 2 hours it managed to discard it but next time it might not be so lucky.

Millions of newly hatched midges dance like mini tornado's above the trees on Lax Hill.

Air Ambulance, RW




Why are signs telling people to slow down pointless? - because people simply don't bother reading them. A cyclist came to the reservoir on a bike and went home in an air ambulance. Fortunately he didn't damage the fence.

One of the most attractive spring migrants to pass through inland waters. Having spent the winter in the Antarctic summer these 6 individuals have seen and done things that we can only dream about and that's just in the last 6 months.
