Grey Wagtail

Very little time recently to sort out any photos or sketches due to Osprey work but things are settling down now so hopefully a few will follow.

Water Rails, RW

The rails brought 4 chicks out but a pair of over aggressive Moorhens soon put an end to the show, forcing the adults to take their chicks elsewhere.

Hares

Odd looking animals really.

Hobbies, RW, 10th May

A 1st summer Black-headed Gull constantly hassled one feeding Hobby but the gull was no match for the falcons speed and agility.

Dipper nest, Scottish Borders.

This superbly camouflaged nest was on the side of a bridge and still had young inside. Unfortunately it was close to where people were walking including youths so i didn't risk spending any time watching it and just took a few pot shots every now and then as we walked by.

Young Dippers

A couple of recently fledged Dippers.

Hen Harrier

Hen Pecked

A Buzzard wandered to close to one of the male Hen's nests.

Raven

You don't realize just how big Ravens are until something else joins them. This one had young just over the brow and was regularly mobbed by Curlews and Merlins.

One of several domestic type Rabbits in a huge warren.
