Towards Fair Isle

When i took the shot of Fair Isle there were 2 Lanceolated, 1 pallas's Grasshopper Warbler and Buff-bellied Pipit present at the time. All i found after walking in grass for seven hours were a Cat, 2 Skylark and several blisters.

Virtually flat calm on the return to the Scottish mainland, very unlike two weeks ago when it was a northerly gale and torrential rain. I had amazing views of 2 female Long-finned Pilot Whales breaching in the calm water.

Lincolnshire Coast

There can be two endings to a days sea watching, either you guess the weather correctly and see a shed load of good sea birds or your a day late and you miss the bus. However, on the Lincs coast you nearly always miss the bus even when the conditions are great. It wasn't a complete waist of time though as i did have the pleasure of watching at least 7 dogs crapping on the beach, all before 7.30am.
