Fish Muggings

The blog sized pictures really don't do justice to the beautifully patterned and coloured water below the cliffs where the Auks often swim. Lots of Jelly Fish were also present below the cliffs with two visible in the bottom photo.

Feeding Terns

Very close views of feeding Common, Sandwich and Little Terns in the evening. Three Roseate Terns from nearby Coquet Island were also present from time to time.

Changing light and heat haze on the moorland

Cotton Grass in very strong heat haze and constantly changing light. Would make a nice abstract painting one day.

Cranberry, Golden-ringed Dragonfly exhuvia and Common Butterwort.

Gorgeous evening light on Little-ringed Plover chicks that were feeding among moulted Swan feathers. Just needed them a little nearer.

Stoat in full flow, RW

The Stoat appeared to be moving its young from a bramble patch to a Rabbit burrow. It made at least six journeys across the meadow but was so quick that i never got a clear view of what it was carrying. Also, the erratic focusing of the camera ( yet another fault) didn't help matters. Came close this afternoon to filling up the camera body with soil and planting a cactus in it.
