The steppe's were alive with the sound of displaying Calandra Larks. They are superb mimics with species such as Green Sandpiper, Spotless Starling, Goldfinch, Corn Bunting and many more all included in their display flight. We watched males guarding females on the ground, the females being noticeably smaller and more Skylark like. They also tended to have less black on the neck than the males.
