Purple Sandpipers

A flock of 60 feeding 1-2m away from my face. I found it extremely difficult to get the correct exposure as one minute they were among jet black seaweed then the next they were on pale rocks. A full day will be spent with them later in the month. The copper-purple shafts of colour on the scapulars is rarely illustrated in the books.
