Clawless Otter

As we drifted through the mangroves i caught sight of an Otter among the roots. After a bit of hide and seek it came out on to the open bank and began following the boat. It was absolutely massive.

I really struggled with shutter speed and the constantly moving boat didn't help matters. And i somehow managed to get more arse-end photo's than anything else even though it was running about for ages.

The mother of all Otter tails. Rutland Water Otters are about the length of this ones tail.

Too close and too big to fit in the frame.

Photo's don't do the whole episode justice. It was one of the undoubted highlights of the trip. I still can't believe how big the bugger was.
