One of our main aims on this trip was to try and connect with the annual Crane migration. Each autumn varying numbers of up to seven species pass over as they head south towards their wintering grounds in southern China and Japan. Our nine days just happened to coincide with a massive movement of all seven species - Common, Siberian, Japanese, White-naped, Hooded, Demoiselle and Sandhill. It was one of the most evocative and emotional sights that i have ever seen. Truly mind blowing.
