Black Kites

The juvenile Black Kites passing through Batumi are extremely variable with some clearly showing a Black-eared Kite influence. Interestingly though all the adults I see look like typical Western birds. The juveniles vary not only in plumage but also structure with some being really large and broad winged with varying wing formula.

This juvenile is very different from the juvenile below in both plumage and wing structure.
